Sticky Tape Art

Artists have created sculptures of everything from a pregnant woman, complete with foetus, to a fisherman, from an officer worker sat at a desk to a jellyfish with rolls and rolls of tape.
They are made by sticking bits of tape in a ‘free-form’ style or by wrapping it around a frame which is later removed.
The fisherman and pregnant woman were each made from four rolls of tape. But a drum set took 48 rolls and the office desk is made from 36.

Other materials, such as wire, cardboard and paint, can make up to ten per cent of the model if used to support or enhance it.
The models had to be made using Scotch packaging tape and the winner will receive £3,200 when judging takes place next month.
But before you go mad taping up your PC and pen pot in the office, the competition is open to US artists only.
